I requisiti di sostenibilità dei prodotti da costruzione come motore dell’innovazione

Abstract
Research investigates the innovation and sustainability of construction products a starting from the consideration that the offer of such products and technologies is gaining ever wider market sectors and is successful thanks to a growing demand for low-energy and environmentally friendly buildings. To address this study, we first asked ourselves about the requirements that characterize the sustainability of products. Such needs and requirements sometimes they are already explicit and clearly defined, but it is also possible to identify them not still recognized either by the producers of materials or by the rules and regulations in force. In order to identify these requirements, a comparative reading of the product certifications, of the methods of assessing the sustainability of the building, of the standards and of the standards that today define the level of quality of the buildings, of the technological system, of the components and of the products have been carried out. and building materials. A first result of the research consists in mapping a series of performances of sustainable products; they are already known, already intrinsic in traditional products or, again, not recognized or not adequately communicated among the actors of the building process: this map allows to recognize new opportunities for the development of sustainable products.
