Tirana International Ph.D. Workshop-Project IDAUP

Lunedì 1 dicembre 2025 prenderà il via il Workshop-Project dell’International Doctorate in Architecture and Urban Planning (IDAUP), organizzato nel quadro del Programma Internazionale di Dottorato “Double Degree” della POLIS University (Tirana, Albania) e dell’Università di Ferrara, dal titolo “Reimagining a Borderless Spatial Future! The Case of Cross-Border Area of Kolonja-Konitca between Albania & Greece”.

Ogni anno un particolare tema e territorio costituiscono il focus dell’attività di ricerca promossa dal workshop.

Esso si inserisce in un lavoro preliminare sulla visione territoriale nazionale sviluppata da U-POLIS e sulla regionalizzazione del Paese secondo i principi UE, condotto dall’istituto Co-PLAN.

Gli studenti sviluppano la loro capacità di operare in modo critico e creativo all’interno di un determinato contesto architettonico e urbanistico, elaborando strumenti teorici e percorsi di ricerca.

Il workshop del 41° ciclo di dottorato sarà focalizzato sulla regione transfrontaliera tra Albania e Grecia, in particolare sui comuni di Kolonja (Albania) e Konitsa (Grecia), per esplorare un futuro senza confini in termini spaziali e territoriali.

On Monday, December 1st, 2025, the Workshop-Project of the International Doctorate in Architecture and Urban Planning (IDAUP) will begin, organized within the framework of the International “Double Degree” PhD Program of POLIS University (Tirana, Albania) and the University of Ferrara, entitled “Reimagining a Borderless Spatial Future! The Case of the Cross-Border Area of Kolonja-Konitca between Albania & Greece”.

Each year, a specific theme and territory form the focus of the research activity promoted by the workshop.

It is part of preliminary work on the national territorial vision developed by U-POLIS and on the regionalization of the country according to EU principles, carried out by the Co-PLAN Institute.

Students develop their ability to operate critically and creatively within a given architectural and urban planning context, elaborating theoretical tools and research paths.

The workshop of the 41^st PhD cycle will focus on the cross-border region between Albania and Greece, particularly on the municipalities of Kolonja (Albania) and Konitsa (Greece), to explore a borderless future in spatial and territorial terms.
