Management

The Director, elected by the Department Council, has functions of guidance, initiative, and coordination of the Department's scientific and educational activities. The Director is responsible for implementing the decisions of the collegial bodies, directing and coordinating technical-administrative personnel based on the organizational regulation. They oversee research activities, ensure their evaluation, and allocate teaching duties among the Department's professors and researchers, in line with the University's guidelines on teaching planning, ensuring these duties are fulfilled. The Director convenes and presides over the Department Council, promotes the Department's activities, and exercises all other responsibilities provided by law, the Statute, and regulations.

The Department Council consists of tenured professors and researchers, including fixed-term researchers affiliated with the Department, as well as representatives of technical-administrative staff, PhD candidates, research fellows, and students enrolled in the Department’s degree programs.

The Study Course Council is a collegial body that supports academic structures by proposing course regulations, ruling on equivalencies and recognition of qualifications, and monitoring students’ academic careers. It provides recommendations to the Department Council regarding the establishment and activation of study programs, the coordination of curricula, the organization of teaching activities, and the implementation of academic tutoring services.

The Department of Architecture oversees:

• Study Course Council in Architecture
• Study Course Council in Industrial Product Design

The Study Course Council is composed of:

• Professors and structured researchers responsible for the program’s courses
• Contract professors responsible for official program courses
• A student representation equal to 15% of the structured faculty

The presidency belongs to the Study Course Coordinators, elected from the faculty.
