Biography

Born in Kermanshah, Iran in 1984, Sara Pouryousefzadeh is an architect. During 2003 to 2007 Bachelor of architecture in Art University in Tabriz, regularly visiting of Iranian authentic architecture fostered her general knowledge in comprehend intangible layers in Iranian design styles ("sabk"). Her knowledge of Persian traditional music structures provided a basic perception of interconnection between architecture and music as well. From 2007 to 2009 attending Master of landscape architecture in Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran, according to many heritage sites in Iran that nowadays witness collapsing landscape structures and unity, decided to assert her studies regarding historical and natural restoration approach. The most notable fields of her research spectrums was: Social sustainability in historical cityscapes, Persian gardens and Qanat irrigation systems, that result in published several papers. As a lecturer she worked for 6 years in Tabriz and Kermanshah universities. She found her architecture firm in 2009 and start the professional experiences in architecture, mostly interior design projects, that is now an internationally firm. Meanwhile searching for PhD program she found UNIFE programs in DA as the best. Mainly because of its honourable faculty, interdisciplinary approach in cultural landscape and exactly the urban-scape of Ferrara as a well-protected cultural heritage. Now she dedicated her PhD research thesis to cultural landscape restoration that she started in 2017.

Cultural Landscape Restoration According To Multicriterial Architecture Technology policies Case Study: Khosrow Bridge (600 A.D.), Bisotun, Iran.

This project emphasizes on successful restoration to converge natural and cultural aspects in a cohesive plan, provides the basis for reducing current ecological issues, restoration the historical Monuments, improving cultural identity in local communities and economic recovery through timeless heritage rehabilitation. "Bisotun" site as an outstanding universal value and a testimony to ancient Iranian civilization is inscribed on ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) world heritage list (2006, No 1222). Bisotun historical bridge reflects important events in Persian history and people who have come and gone throughout this bridge during the centuries. By making useful and meaning full the tangible and intangible values of this site, prosperity of poor people living condition and build local capacity, will be achieved. Cultural landscape Restoration cause to convert threats to opportunities and vibrant the site with a brighter future. As the last cultural restoration approach that implemented by ICCROM and IUCN which emerged as a response to the growing concerns over the divide between nature and culture, it is mentioned that “One of the defining characteristics of the World Heritage Convention is that the protection and management of both natural and cultural values of Outstanding Universal Value should fall under one international instrument (ICCROM).”Furthermore Promoting People-Centred Approach aims at contributing towards the new paradigm shift ‘from the care of heritage to that of pursuing the wellbeing of both heritage (natural and cultural) and society as a whole. Defining principles in comprehensive restoration plan in Bisotun heritage site should regard these three main aspects coincide .On the other hand this site as a vast and panoramic site should be studied in 3 zones and the main focus point will be “Khosrow bridge” that by applying proven conservation ethics, architecture technology cause to relive and vibrant its monumental characteristic.
