TRASPARENZE DI SINTESI. APPLICAZIONI E LINEE DI SVILUPPO DEI MATERIALI POLIMERICI NEL PROGETTO DI ARCHITETTURA

Abstract
The relation between transparency and architecture is born (originates) strictly related to the concept of threshold: when a passage is opened in a wall both a vision of places as distinct and limited is made possible and a distinction between internal and external is determined: a property is therefore defined. The transparency, which owns this function and is therefore thought as a skin - a kind of boundery material reacting to different environments - seems to be like a phenomenon tied/related to the vision, not only as regards the passage of the ray of light, but, above all, as graded inconvenience of the human vision. The research, which starts from the psycological studies of the apparent perception by Helmbolz, Hering and Da Pos and analyzes the various declinations of the transparency in architecture, speaking both of concepts and of nature, inquires into the different ways of being/behaving of the transparent plastics. The synthesis materials employed/used in their different grades of permeability to the light, are selected, looked into their present forms and uses in the project of architecture, trying finally to establish their major or most interesting future developments.
